|  | Tellyouatale.com is a new kind of website. It invites writers,
amateur and professional, to submit short stories and verse. Actors, also
amateur and professional, are invited to read them. Many writers read some
of their own material. Anybody can register on the site, download the
tales, listen and keep them.
60% of income from all tales goes back, in equal parts, to the
writers and actors, or the whole 60% if Tellyouatale.com is agreeable to the
writer reading his or her own work. In addition, every writer and actor is
profiled, with a picture, short description (which they write) and, if
required, a link to another site.
The website itself, created by internet professionals, is
elegantly straightforward to use, yet with a powerful database, ensuring
fast delivery (of MP3 audio files- for the technically minded), online
processing and account handling. Tellyouatale.com has an eye to the rapidly
expanding broadband sector of the online community.
Tales can be selected by category (for children, humour,
surreal etc), by author or by actor.
Several longer series and serials are currently in various
stages of production, and Tellyouatale.com is considering the sale of audio
produced novels via this medium.
Tellyouatale.com also has an out of copyright section, including
poetry and drama as well as short stories and extracts from larger works.
These are all free, and subscribers are encouraged to make suggestions as to
content of this section.
Although subscribers must register, plenty of material is free.
The rest is purchased online using prepaid credit points, purchased by post
or online. Typically, a 15 minute short story may cost 50 pence, 75 euro
cents or 75c US. All tales listed provide an immediate audio taster and a
synopsis. We hope that subscribers will find tellyouatale.com addictive.
